Friends Are Family Too | Personal

Uncategorized

This will be my fourth blog this week!  What is going on here people?!  I finally created my own blog schedule via Coschedule (more about this sweet blogging tool later) in hopes that I will consistently produce something for y’all to read.  But really, who actually reads these?  If you have the time to comment below and say I READ THEM!!!! – that would be amazing! 🙂

Anyways, you know I could ramble on forever so let me get back on topic.  I flew to Florida yesterday to spend time/photograph with my Miller family and the rest of their extended crew who came in from Colorado.  This family never fails to make me feel like I’m one of their own and I’m so grateful for that!  On the plane I got to thinking about a comment that someone once made to me.  A comment along the lines of “it’s great to see your friends when you come home but… that’s really not important.” WRONG. wrrrrroooonngggg. wrong-o.  I love my immediate family, I really do, but they aren’t my only family, which is why that one simple comment has stuck in my head for months now.  I run in circles with so many people who would drop and do more for me than some people that I share the same blood with and that’s just me keeping it real here.  I really wanted to tell that person they were extremely small minded, because I don’t know about you but I find myself SO blessed to have family beyond my biological family.  Yeah, technically they are friends, but then again they’re more than just that and if I want to spend all the time in the world with them – I WILL!  I find myself so blessed to have people who are on my team and who support me in all things and pass zero judgement on me unless I ask for it.  I find myself so blessed to be able to extend myself to others beyond the people who live in my house.

So I guess what I’m saying here is friends are family, too.  Family is such a bigger word people tend to acknowledge.  Family extends beyond a household and a bloodline.  Family are the people who never leave, who keep in touch, and who love as unconditionally as humanly possible. Take the time today to thank those who made you an honorary member of their tribe, their family, and their life.  Those kind of people are the best kind of people.  I mean my people even took the time to talk to Cody via FaceTime and they haven’t even met him!!  How awesome is that?!  Alright, back to hanging out at the beach y’all! I promise there are more pictures coming and maybe even a fun video!! xoxo
