One life.  One life is all it takes to bring more light into the world.  To inspire others.  To teach and encourage the qualities of faith, honor, and commitment.  To show others how to live the right way.  One life is all it takes. 

In August of last year, I lost a dear friend of mine.  A friend who’s life was short, but was a life well lived.  His life was full of accomplishment and success.  He was that one person, that one life, that impacted me and everyone else around me. 

Dequan Raindle was an example and a leader to all who knew him.  Dequan was the best friend and the best encourager.  He was strong, kind, and his smile was bright.  He loved God and he loved others.  No matter what he was doing, he never slowed down. He never stopped working hard and he never stopped pursuing greatness. 

You may know him, or you may not.  Regardless, I hope you understand what an amazing life he lived.  Even at a young 21 years old, he inspired many, including myself.  Over 2,000 people attended his funeral at our old high school gym.  His story made the news and I still see his example and impact living on through friends we shared. 

In honor of Dequan, the Dequan Raindle Scholarship was founded in order to give back to the community and to local Corsicana High School seniors who exhibit the same qualities that he did.  The scholarship committee is working hard to ensure a great first year for the scholarship recipients and a few events in honor of Dequan have already been planned.

The first annual Impact of One Life 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament will take place on June 4th-5th at Corsicana High School. Registration has opened and closes on April 30th, 2016.  Entry fees are $75 per team and all proceeds go towards the Dequan Raindle Scholarship fund.  Click the button down below and view the sign up form.  Print it off, fill out all the details, write your check, and send it to the address on the form if you are ready to enter. 

If you are like me and cannot dribble a basketball, therefore you are not interested in entering the tournament, but would like to become a sponsor – you can totally do that!   There are four different types of sponsorships available.  Starting as low as $100 to be on the back of a t-shirt.  Worth it!   Click the button below to view the sponsorship form and details. 

I choose to only support causes that are near and dear to my heart.  I would appreciate it if you feel called to help in any way.  Whether you enter a team or simply donate and become a sponsor.  You could help impact the lives of young men and women just like Dequan did.  You could be the one person that changes the outcome a person’s life by donating to Dequan’s scholarship fund.
