In my eyes, Texas is majestic. It’s the Motherland. The greatest country there ever was. Texas is huge. Texas is diverse. We have lush forests, beaches, mountains, hills, plains. You name it, we got it. Texas has heart, soul, and pride. Texas represents hospitality and friendliness at it’s finest. Texas isn’t just apart of the south. Texas is Texas. It’s vastly different than the states in the country and I believe it could like stand on it’s own as the Republic of Texas again. That’s right… if we seceded… I wouldn’t be mad. π
With that being said… there’s one place in Texas that steals my heart every single time I’m there. The Hill Country. God’s country. Drive through it and you’ll understand. Meet the people and you’ll want to stay. Corsicana may be my home, but you if find us moving southbound 35 one day… make sure to come visit y’all!
Cody’s been in the Navy for over two years now and has never spent ANY of his leave time on an actual vacation. It’s normally spent spreading himself thin between all the people he needs to see and the good Lord knows how I feel for him every time he’s home and running around like a chicken with his head cut off. Well this time, he used his leave for a real break and for fun. Before we made our way over to Florida for a week spent on the beach, we spent a couple of days down south dreaming about how we want to end up there someday. With the hospitality of some sweet friends, we enjoyed the small town of Liberty Hill on day uno. Day two took us over to Llano, Fredericksburg, Luckenbach, and we climbed Enchanted Rock. Yeah, ALL IN ONE DAY!! It was a blast!!
First stop along the way, Cooper’s BBQ in Llano. Yum. Enough said. Second stop, Luckenbach. Music, beer, and history. The perfect little hang out. We missed Cody Canada and the Departed by one day. Boooooo!! Stop three, downtown Fredericksburg. I wanted to buy all of the things – but my wallet said “hahaha no way Maddie.” Last stop… Enchanted Rock. I’ve been there once before, but that does not make it any less enchanting. Plus this time I got to climb it with my husband. I wrote him a letter while he was in boot camp from the top of that rock and I said we needed to go there together someday and last week… we did! π
Now that I’ve talked your ear off… enjoy our pictures & video from our Hill Country adventures!! You should go someday!! Seriously!! π
